JSPS Forum on Materials and Energy Transition - Nov. 24-26, Lyon

INSA Lyon, Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the University of Tohoku (Japan) are jointly organizing with the JSPS Strasbourg office (directed by Pr. Takagi) and the support of the Japanese consulate in Lyon the next JSPS Forum entitled

“Energy Transition and Materials”

It will take place from November 24 to 26, 2025 (the 24th at INSA Lyon, the 25th at ECL and the 26th on both sites) and will aim to discuss future developments in materials science and lubrication to limit energy losses in systems.

The first two days of the forum will be devoted to a scientific program structured around seven thematic sessions, each featuring a keynote speaker from France and Japan. These days will also include a round table and poster sessions.
The 7 sessions on “Energy transition and materials” will cover the following topics

• Characterization of materials using synchrotron radiation
• Materials for energy storage
• Materials and energy conversion
• Mechanisms of energy dissipation
• New lubrication additives
• Energy efficiency and CFD
• Architectural materials

Forum registration is compulsory but free of charge. When registering, it will be possible to sign up for laboratory visits (the schedule of visits will be announced shortly).
