The 4th ELyT Lab workshop was held in France from March 12 to 14, 2012, in Presqu'ile de Giens (south east). 80 participants (35 coming from Sendai) attended the meeting, including 26 presentations and 11 posters
This ELyT School will be organized by TU for French students. It is planned to have about 15 to 25 students from Lyon in Sendai. The budget will be mainly provided by TU for this action.
This conference is the next of a series on the same topics organized by IFS of TU, Sendai. Usually many persons from ELyT lab are participating.
The objective of this first workshop on this subject is to have a kind of brain storming in order to study solutions to mitigate tsunami.
The next annual workshop is already scheduled. The participants will have to be in Sendai the 23rd evening for a common bus departure on the Feb. 24.
In addition, a working meeting helped lay the foundation for our next ELyT School to be held next October in Sendai. The purpose of this school is to demystify Japan in the eyes of our students and show them the value of continuing their studies at Tohoku University, as a dual master's degree or thesis in ElyT lab. The call for nominations will be open soon, and a selection process will be organized.

The Seventh International Conference on Flow Dynamics (ICFD2010) in the annual series will be held at Sendai International Center in Sendai, Japan from November 1st to 3rd, 2010, which is fully supported by Tohoku University Global COE Program: World Center of Education and Research for Trans-disciplinary Flow Dynamics.
The objectives of this conference are not only to explore new science horizon and exchange cutting edge technologies of “Flow Dynamics”, but also to provide young researchers and students with unique opportunities of education and self-development.
Second Annual Seminar of the LIA Ely lab, organized by INSA-Lyon and Ecole Centrale de Lyon was held from 14 to 16 March 2010 in Sévrier the shores of Lake Annecy. It brought together 90 participants including 30 from Japan's Tohoku University in Sendai, colleagues of INSA, ECL, Lyon 1 and ENS-Lyon. The various strands of Engineering worn by Ely lab were discussed during 29 presentations made jointly by a Japanese author and a French author, as well as displaying more than 15 posters.
An atmosphere of friendliness and scientific thinking have combined to wonder for very productive exchanges ... In addition, a special session on the role of free radicals in the most diverse physicochemical mechanisms (tribology, biointeractions, corrosion, radiation effects, etc..) allowed exchanges interesting most of Ely-lab members.
The next annual seminar ElyT will be held in Japan, probably in March 2011.
